Who Needs Counseling?
Everyone can benefit from counseling at some point in their lives. Just as we care for our physical health by visiting doctors and dentists, nurturing our mental and emotional well-being through therapy is essential. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, family dynamics, life transitions, grief and loss, or relationship issues, therapy provides a supportive space to develop new skills and find peace.
What's Counseling Like?
Therapy isn’t like what you see in movies or on TV. It’s much more than a cliché image of someone lying on a couch. Therapy offers an objective listening ear, a place to explore new perspectives, and a safe environment to process difficult emotions. It’s an opportunity to learn valuable skills to improve your quality of life. It can be done over the phone, on video, or in person.
What Can I Expect My First Session?
During your first session, we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. We’ll explore how our approach can support you and review any necessary paperwork and payment details. Subsequent sessions will focus on addressing your specific concerns.
How Often Will I Have Sessions?
Your therapist will work with you to determine the frequency of sessions based on your needs and goals. While monthly sessions may not be suitable for new clients initially, as progress is made, this may become an option to consider.
Do You Offer Online Therapy?
We offer online therapy sessions at the same rate as in-office sessions. Our secure, HIPAA-compliant video service ensures privacy and confidentiality. Online therapy offers convenience and comfort, allowing you to engage in therapy from anywhere within the state of Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.
What About My Confidentiality?
Your privacy is our priority. We adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, and your treatment details will not be shared without your consent, except in specific circumstances such as imminent danger to yourself or others.
How Much Does It Cost?
We offer various payment options, including checks, debit/credit cards, insurance, and cash. Discounts are available for self-pay clients, and session durations typically range from 50-60 minutes.
Do You Accept Insurance?
While we accept insurance plans, we understand the complexities of insurance in mental health care. We prioritize providing personalized treatment, which may be limited by insurance requirements. Our team can assist with insurance claims and reimbursement processes.
Where Do I Access My Appointments and Message My Therapist?
Access your client portal conveniently through our website navigation for easy communication and scheduling.
What if I want a Therapist Who Is/Isn’t a Specific Relation or Orientation?
At Family Pathways, we work with people from all walks of life, cultures, and religions. It is not our place to push cultural, political, or religious agendas. If you wish to discuss religious beliefs as part of your therapy, we are happy to do so. If you aren’t religious or want to talk about your lack of religious beliefs, we’re great with that too. Basically, it’s up to you how much or little religion, politics, and other personal beliefs are a part of your therapy. Our therapists are expected to meet you where you’re at regardless of their own beliefs/religious affiliation.
What If I Want a Different Therapist?
We understand that finding the right therapist is crucial. If you don’t feel a connection with your therapist, you can request a referral or speak with our clinical director.
